Hey everyone. So I just got some of these Revlon Just Bitten Lipstains a few days ago and I wanted to see which ones I thought were better, Revlon or the Cover Girl Outlast Lipstains. I put the Revlon one on the right side of my mouth and the Cover Girl one on the left side. Below is a picture of the lipstains. The Revlon lipstain is in Frenzy and the Cover Girl is in the number 402.
Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain - $8.99
Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain - $4.47
This is right after I applied the products. The colors are similar. The Revlon color is a bit deeper.
After an hour
I added balm after the first hour. The Revlon side has the balm that comes with the lipstain and the Cover Girl side has Nivea A Touch of Smoothness lip balm.
After 2 hours: The Revlon side definitley looks darker than the Cover Girl side.
After 3 hours: The Revlon side is holding up better. The Cover Girl side is fading a bit.
After 4 hours: I ate and had some soda and water and this is what it looks like after that. You would definitley need to reapply after eating and drinking. The Revlon side is still darker than the Cover Girl side and has more product still on the lips.
I added more balm after the 4th hour. It helped a bit but you can still see that the Cover Girl side is fading.
Here is the video which I filmed at about the 5th hour.
After the 6th hour both sides are fading considerably on the bottom lip.
After the 7th hour this is hardly any product left on the Cover Girl bottom lip. Both sides are faded but there is a bit more color still left on the Revlon side.
Ok so my conclusion to this little experiment/comparison: I prefer the Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain over the Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain. 15 minutes after putting the colors on, the Revlon color was absorbed into my skin, meaning I could no longer feel the product there and the product didn't transfer onto my fingers when touched. The Cover Girl product was still a bit wet and sticky so I could tell it had not been absorbed into the skin yet. After an hour when I put on the balms, Cover Girl transfered to my Nivea lip balm. Revlon did not leave any transfer of color onto its lip balm. Revlon outlasted Cover Girl without a doubt. Now there is a major price difference. Revlon is almost twice as much as Cover Girl, however I do feel that it is better quality and longer lasting. :-) Just my opinion (-: But I would definitley buy Revlon again and I probably won't buy any more of the Cover Girl lipstains.
So we've come to the end of yet another month. I put together a list of my absolute favorite products of this month. These are the things that I've been using the most, practically on a daily basis. I've included the prices and why I love these products so much and as always the link to my YT video will be below. Enjoy! xoxoxo
1. Physicians Formula Healthy Wear Tinted Moisturizer SPF 50 in Light to Natural ($12.99)
I absolutley adore this product. I have been using this almost everyday instead of foundation. The coverage is good and you can build it up to a more opaque coverage if desired. It does have a light scent to it but it doesn't bother me in the least. It has a nice dewey finish and if you don't like that you can add a finishing powder to mattify it. It lasts all day and my favorite things about it...you guessed it SPF of 50!!!! Great for those hot sunny summer days!!!
2. CoverGirl and Olay Simply Ageless Corrector in 230 ($10.99)
I've been using this corrector under and over my foundation just about everyday. It's nice and creamy. One thing about it though, it does crease a bit so I use a powder to set it. But other than that I love this product.
3. Neutrogena Healthy Blends: Bronzer in Sunkissed and Blush in Fresh ($10.99)
I love Neutrogena products in general but these two are some of my favorites. Both of these products are mulit-colored which is great because it doesn't look like you have a big brown or pink splotch on your face. It blends out nicely and looks like either a natural tan or a natural rosy cheek.
4. Revlon Matte E/S in Vintage Lace ($4.99)
This is my holy grail of highlight colors! Lol I used to use Jane E/S in Dream Cream as my highlight every single day before I found this color. (As far as I know Jane is a discontined brand, correct me if I'm wrong.) Vintage lace is the perfect highlight color for my skin tone. It's a pretty light cream color. And it's MATTE!!! Love this E/S
5. Hard Candy Kal-Eyedescope Baked E/S in Peace ($6.00)
I love most of the Hard Candy Baked E/S but this is my new favorite. Before I got this color, I was using High Maintenance as my everyday eyeshadow. The light side of Peace is more cream colored than High Maintenance (which is more of a frosty white) so it works better for me. Whenever I need to just throw some color on or if I'm doing a laid back look, Peace is the E/S I reach for.
6. L'Oreal Voluminous (waterproof) Carbon Black ($7.49)
I'd always heard a lot of great things about this mascara and I'm such a mascara whore that I had to get it to try it out myself. I thought it was going to be another over-hyped product but wow, I love this mascara. It gives me great volume, great length, it holds a curl, it doesn't flake...its awesome. I love it!!!
7. L'Oreal Bare Naturale All Over Mineral Glow in Pink Glow ($12.99)
This is a really light glowy powder that I use on my cheek bones for a nice sheen and highlight. If I'm doing a really natural look and don't want a ton of color on my face, I'll use it as a blush. It's a pretty color and makes you look really glowy :-) The brush it comes with is okay. It's like a duo fiber brush and sometimes if I'm in a rush I'll use it but mostly I'll use a powder brush with this product.
8. Maybelline Color Sensational L/S in Pink Sand ($5.00)
I have a ton of these Maybelline lipsticks but this one is the one I use the most. It's a very light pink color with a bit of shimmer. If I'm in a rush, I'll grab this as I'm headed out. This color is super versatile. I can use it if I have a really dark smokey eye or if I have a really light neutral look. I also think this is a color that would suite most skin tones. It's really pretty and I think it's comparable to Rimmel's Airy Fairy which is another one of my favorites.
9. Revlon ColorStay Brow Enhancer in Light Brown ($6.57)
This is my #1 eyebrow product. I heard about this through a video that a YT Guru did (emilynoel83) and I went and got it. I've been using it everyday ever since. It's a dual sided product. One side is a tinted wax and the other is a highlight color. I don't really use the highlight color but the tinted wax is great! It not only adds color to the brow but the wax makes them stay in place and is a great base for the powder that I apply over to fill in my brows. Great great great eyebrow product!
10. Paris Presents: Foundation & Concealer Duo Brush (cannot find price)
I had no idea what this brush was called so I had to google it :-/ I found this at Wal-Mart and I cannot remember the price for the life of me and I can't find it either. But I think it was like $2. It's super inexpensive. And it works great for me! I use my Cover Girl and Olay Corrector with this brush. It was a foundation brush on one side and a smaller concealer brush on the other. Great duo brush love it!
11. OPI Rumple's Wiggin' ($8.50)
Okay the reason I bought this particular polish is because of a twitpic that Khloe Kardashian posted a while back. She'd just had a manicure done using this color. I fell in love with it. It's a cream color (no shimmer or glitter) and it's a beautiful lavender/lilac color. I love the color purple and I have a ton of different purple colored polish but nothing like this one. You do need a few coats to get it opaque but its a beautiful color. Rumple's Wiggin' came out with the Shrek collection.
12. Garnier Fructis Wonder Waves ($3.99)
I used this product for the first time at my sister's. We had just gone swimming and I'd washed out my hair and she told me to try this product. First impression: it smelled delicious! Garnier Fructis is known for the citrusy smell their products have and this is no exception. Besides the smell (which is a huge plus) its a great product for wavy hair. It makes me look like I have beachy wave hair (lol) and it doesn't leave my hair feeling stiff.
For my last product I chose my favorite eye makeup remover. This product has dual liquids that you shake to mix together. I'll soak a cottonball with it and pat my eyes and this takes care of anything and everything I have on; waterproof mascara, waterproof eyeliner, eyebrow wax, etc etc. And its cheap!!! Less than 5 bucks. Afterwards I'll just wash my face and moisturize and I'm done.
Hope you enjoyed this and that it was helpful in some way to you :-) Thanks for reading and don't forget to watch my video and subscribe!!!!
Hey everyone. So I just uploaded a video on YT about products I've purchased that I wouldn't purchase again. Now I say it in the video and I wrote it in the description box but I'll say it again: THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS :-) Everyone is different; different skin types, different skin reactions, different skin colors, etc etc etc. So just because these products didn't work for me, that doesn't mean that they won't work for you. I made this video so that people have another opinion to work off of. You don't want to base whether you buy something or not soley on the opinon of one person. So check out different reviews and the reasons why someone liked or disliked a product and figure out if you think it would or wouldn't work with your specific needs. :-) If you want to check out the video as always the link will be below :-) (are you tired of my happy faces? lol) I will be posting another tag video (30 random questions) and I also have a June Favorites that I will be posting probably on Wednesday since that's the last day of the month. I also want to do a contest soon!!! So don't forget to subscribe!!!! xoxoxo
Hey everyone. I just did a video on how I do my eyebrows. I've recieved a few comments on YT as well as in "real life" about my eyebrows so I wanted to show you how I fill them in and maintain them. The video link will be posted below.
The first product I use on my brows is Revlon ColorStay Brow Enhancer in Light Brown ($6.57) This is a tinted wax with a highlighter. I use it to create the shape I want and as a base for the powder product to stick to. I go back and forth between 2 powders depending on how light or dark I want my eyebrows and also depending on how light or dark my hair is. The lighter powder is Maybelline Ultra-Brow Brush on Color in Light Brown ($4.99) and the darker one is CoverGirl Eye Enhancer E/S in Brown Smolder ($4.99)
The following are products I use to maintain my eyebrows. The first is Revlon's Pre/Post Tweezing Cream (appx $5.99) The "pre" gel is supposed to make it less painful when tweezing. I don't really find that it makes much of a difference. The "post" cream is what I love about this product. It has chamomile to help sooth the skin after you tweeze and to reduce redness. It has a great cooling effect that really does sooth your skin.
As far as tweezers go the ones I reach for the most (because I have like 5 of them) are Revlon tweezers (the squiggly blue ones $6.99) and the Sonia Kashuk Diamond Tip ($14.99) I also use eyebrow razors to keep my shape sharp on top. You can get these just about anywhere and the ones I get are from Wal-Mart they come in a pack of three ($2.40) The last product I use to maintain my brows is an electric razor by Finishing Touch ($9.99) I use this to trim the small hairs around my brows that I can't get w/ tweezers and also to trim my brows if they're getting too long. Be very careful with this product because I have slipped and shaved a good chunk of my brow off :-(
So that is my eyebrow info :-) Check out my video on YT and subscribe!!! xoxoxo
Hey everyone :-) New YT video is up. My youngest sister spent the night a few nights ago and we did a video together. She's 15 so I aimed it at teenagers in high school. I used neutral colors all over the face and added a pop of purple e/s as an eyeliner smudged across the upper and lower lash lines. Check out the video. There are some bloopers at the end which are pretty funny. I can't get w/ either of my sisters without laughing a ton. (My other sister is 20) Here are some pics of the look and the video link will be below.
Yep...I did it again. Another haul...and this should be the last one for a while...but I can't promise anything...I'll try to refrain...I've actually attempted to do a "Project 10-Pan" but it never works out...oh well...without further ado...
First off is lip products.
L'Oreal Infallible Plumping Lipglos in Plumped Red $8.99:
Pretty redish pink lipgloss, I haven't tried it on yet. My other Infallible lipglosses are nice, I like them. As far as plumping, they do give a nice effect and its not uncomfortable to wear.
Maybelline Shine Sensational Liploss in Mad about Melon and Cranberry Crave $4.94: First one is a pretty sheer melony peach color and the other one is a pretty deep cranberry color. The color payoff is ok for a lipgloss, they last an ok while :-) and they smell delicious!!!
Hard Candy Plumping Serum Volume Lipgloss $6.00: I haven't tried these yet. The first one Uptown Girl looks pink in the tube but swatched its very sheer. (swatches below) The sencond one is a pretty plumy color its called Material Girl.
The swatces are the same left to right as the products shown above :-)
Cover Girl Outlast Lip Stain $7.28: I really like these CG lipstains. They actually stay put forever on my lips. All I do is put these on and if my lips feel a little dry I put some clear gloss or chapstick and bam I'm done ;-) Def recommend these. (I looked for the names of the colors...I only found a few...400 is Everbloom Kiss and 445 is Cinnamon Smile...)
Revlon Lipgloss in Pink Whisper, Pearl Plum and Life's a Peach $5.94:
I really like these lip glosses. They're a little bit sticky but I think they have a nice color payoff and last a good while :-)
Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Fuchsia $8.99:
Love these lipsticks and this color is soooo pretty and intense. Such a summer color for sure. My only gripe is the shape. It's not like a traditional lipstick shape. I don't know how to explain it. I'll edit this later and put a picture so you can see. But anyway, love the color and I think it lasts a pretty long time.
Hard Candy Meteor-eyes Baked E/S in Space Cadet and Asteroid $6.00:
Pretty colors :-) Still haven't tried them out. They do look way more intense wet (side-note).
(with flash)
Revlon Luxurious E/S in Lilac Shimmer (Perle) and Polished Bronze (Satin) $4.99: Lilac Shimmer is a little bit chalky and the glitter in it is chunky!!! Might be a pass... Polished Bronze is pretty but its not super special.
HiP Duo E/S in Mischeif, Ritous, Saucy, Flare, Wicked $6.78 - $7.99: Love HiP eyeshadows. Haven't tried these yet but I will soon ;-)
(with flash)
Swatches are the same left to right as above.
HiP Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Teal $10.19:
Haven't tried this color yet but I do have the black and brown version which I love. They set pretty quickly and stay put.
L'Oreal True Match Blendable Blush in Precious Peach, Innocent Flush, Baby Blossom and Rosy Outlook $8.97:
Super pretty colors. I've only tried Rosy Outlook so far and I loved it.
Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in Tropics $9.00:
Pretty golden bronzer. Works best (I think) with light to medium skin tones. Very pretty.
Nicole by OPI Nailpolish in Deeply in Love and Virtuous Violet $7.00 - $7.99:
Love Nicole by OPI, I have a ton of these colors.
Pure Ice Nailpolish in Nasty Girl $2.00 (walmart): Pretty colors, inexpensive but you do need a few coats. Still I love these colors ;-) and this line of nailpolish.
So that is that :-) I'm off to record a video for this and that will be posted shortly :-)
Rumple's Wiggin' : I love this color. It's a creamy lilacy-lavender color. I mentioned this in another blog...I saw a picture that Khloe Kardashian (whom I LOVE) tweeted with this color on and I literally went to Ulta that day and bought it :-) It's so pretty but you do need quite a few coats of this to make it as opaque as this picture. (4 coats is what I used)
Melon of Troy : Super pretty coral color, perfect for summertime :-) It reminds me of orange sherbert ice cream. Now what's more summer than ice cream? Lol love this color. I used 3 coats in this picture.
Pompeii Purple : This looks more pink than purple to me...just sayin' :-) Love this color. It's what I currently have on my toes. It has a slight purple tint to it which is pretty. I used 2 coats in this picture. This color and Melon of Troy I found at Target :-)
Nicole by O.P.I Polish Price: $7.00 @ Wal-Mart
Jade in the Shade : Beautiful green-blue color. I'm not usually a fan of blue nail polish but this color is gorgeous!! 2 coats in this picture.
The Right Thing : Pretty hot orange color with some gold shimmer. This color screams hot summer afternoon to me :-) 2 coats used.
Playin' Hooky : This is one of my all time favorite pinks! It's a sexy hot Barbie pink :-) Loooove this color. I've worn it a bunch of times. It's creamy, no shimmer. 2 coats used.
Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Nail Polish Price: $7.00 @ Wal-Mart
Calypso Blue : Again I'm not usually a fan of blue nail polish but this is another blue that I love. It's sooo pretty. It looks like the ocean :-) 3 coats used.
Sally Hansen Insta Dry Fast Dry Nail Color Polish Price: :-( I've had this forever and I couldn't find the price online but I think it's about $6-$7
Rapid Red : This is a true red. Creamy, no shimmer. I think a true red is a must have color for both summer and winter. This is my favorite color to put on my toes :-) 2 coats used.
Pure Ice Nail Polish Price: $2.00 @ Wal-Mart
Wet T-Shirt : Pretty hot pink with silver glitter. You always need a glittery polish during the summer. Another must have :-) I did have to use like 4 coats to get the glitter to really pop. But at $2.00 a bottle, this polish is a steal!
Nasty Girl : This is a pretty baby pink color that has a purple tint to it. It's so pretty and almost neutral-y. Does that even make sense? Haha I mean its not like an in your face color. Its subtle but still a pretty summer color. I did use 4 coats for this color as well because its very sheer. But again $2.00 a bottle is sweeeet! :-)
So those are my Top 10 Summer Nail Polish Picks :-) Hope you enjoyed and found this useful :-) Don't forget to check out my You Tube video on this :-)
Wut wut lol I found my camera charger (it was hidden underneath a blanket on my bed, go figure) so I edited and uploaded the mascara review! Check it out :-)
Sooo...I finally did a video on the drugstore mascara reviews...and now I can't find the charger to my camera...so its dead and I can't upload the vid or the pics :-( I've looked EVERYWHERE!!! Don't you just freakin' hate when that happens...ugh! I'm so sad lol (obviously not sad enough to leave out the lol). But in all seriousness...where is it!?!?! I'll continue the search for it and hopefully *fingers crossed* I find it tonight so I can have the video edited and uploaded by tomorrow................to be continued.................
Hi guys and gals :-) So I (like a lot of makeup lovers) have a TON of mascaras. Anytime a new one comes out I go and get it...sometimes they live up to the hype...sometimes, a lot of the time, they don't. That's just the way it is. Because mascara is my #1 beauty product I CANNOT live without, I will always search for the "holy grail" of mascaras. I have a few that I absolutley LOVE and think are the greatest and I have a lot more that just fail to meet my expectations of what a mascara should be about. So here we go...enjoy :-)
First off is Rimmel Sexy Curves Full Volume & Curve Mascara in Black. I've tried this mascara out a few times now each time thinking "Maybe today I will really like this mascara" and each time I just don't :-( It does provide some length and it holds the curl okay but I hate the brush to being with. It's a nice concept but it doesn't work out they way I think Rimmel intended it to. It's too stiff and it pokes my eye each and every time. The formula I find to be a little bit watery...and this is the waterproof formula I'm using. I don't think it provides a whole lot of volume. It's a mascara that I would probably never buy again.
$3.49
Next I have this Hard Candy mascara called 1,000 Lashes Fiberized Lash Weave Mascara. The reason I got these 2 mascaras was because they are (supposed to be) colored. The "Lash Weave" caught my eye as well. First off the color pay off is horrible! The pic below is the purple one. The green one shows up a little bit better but definitley not as much as I would've hoped. Not a lot of length or volume...and it flakes. When you pull the brush out of the tube there are a whole bunch of fibers that I'm assuming are supposed to stick to your lashes to give them length...yeah...that doesn't happen at all. The fibers just stick the brush and don't do much of anything...definite PASS!!!
$6.00
This next mascara is Rimmel The Max Volume Flash Mascara in Black. I like the brush on this mascara because it's pretty big and wide. However...this formula isn't super great. The biggest flaw I found with this mascara is it clumps like no one's business... It has okay length and volume but the clumping and flaking is a deal breaker :-( That's 0 for 2 Rimmel... $3.49
Next is Cover Girls Exact Eyelights and I have two colors: Black Gold and Black Ruby. These mascaras are supposed to have a hint of shimmer to make your eye color pop...yeah...no. I would choose the Cover Girl Lash Blast Luxe (in the pink tube) over this one. The length it provides is nice and it keeps the curl well. No flaking with this formula, so that's a plus. I don't really like the brush though. It's another one that I find to be too stiff and it pokes my eye...lol But it's one that I think is okay :-)
$7.24
This one is one of my top mascaras. :-) Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion in Very Black. My only gripe with this mascara is the brush. It's exactly like the original Cover Girl Lash Blast (in the orange tube), it's big and fat with small stiff bristles. Its not my favorite brush but for the results, I can live with it. This mascara lengthens, volumizes, doesn't clump and holds the curl well :-) All in all I like this mascara a lot and would def recommend it! :-)
$8.99
This one is my current favorite (even beating out my old fave below L'Oreal Voluminous). This is Maybelline's the Falsies Volum' Express in Blackest Black. LOVE this mascara!!! I've been using this almost every day since I got it. The brush is curved which I love and it's super flexible. The formula is great, no clumps, holds a curl, lengthens, volumizes...the whole shabang! It truly lives up to its name "the Falsies". The one thing I look for in a mascara above all else is length and this mascara delivers! Def a must have!!! :-) $7.77
Last but not least is one of my all time faves! L'Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black. I'd heard both good and bad reviews on this mascara and I finally got it to see for myself...and I fell in love with it. I've had it for about a month and a half now. It lengthens my lashes ridiculously :-) The volume is also great. It holds a curl very well and I haven't had any issues with clumping or flaking. It drys fairly quickly which can be good or bad depending on how many coats you usually do. I find that with this mascara I only need one coat so I don't mind the fast drying. Its a pro for me because I don't have to worry about it getting on my lid if I look up. All in all I really love this mascara and think its another must-have!
$7.49
So that's it for my mascara review. Hopefully this was helpful to you :-) Keep in mind these are MY opinions and everyone will have different opinions and results when using these products. I'll be posting this as a YT video soon so look out for that. :-)
